INSTALLATION USING THE INTERLOCKING FLOORING
When installing our interlocking floating floor system follow the same pre installation preparations you would if you
were going to hail or glue down the product. In addition a 3 in 1 foam or for sound should be applied between the
interlocking flooring and the subfloor. At minimum. it is recommended that the installer float our interlocking products
over 6mm polyethylene sheeting to protect the floor from any
elements that may be in the subfloor such as moisture. When applying the sheeting it is necessary
sheeting by a minimum of 4" and be sure to tape them for proper protection. Many of the flooring recommended 3 in 1
foams will include seam tape for proper installation and foam for ample sound dampening. Refer to 3 in 1 foam
installation instructions for additional subfloor and installation requirements specific to that product. It is important to
remember acceptable subfloor moisture levels still apply and proper acclimation is a necessity with interlocking
bamboo flooring. (see above for details)
FINISHING SUGGESTIONS (UNFINISHED FLOORING)
There is a variety of water based durable polyurethane finishes to choose from. Apply one sealer coat for proper
adhesion followed by 1 or 2 top coats for maximum durability. Using a water
during installation. Two such water based polyurethane products are Basic Coatings by Street Shoe and Easy Street
or Bona Kemi Traffic.
MAINTENANCE
Proper maintenance procedures play an important role in the upkeep of all floors. A maintained floor increases the
lasting beauty of your floor and makes for a satisfied customer. For stubborn spots, use a urethane floor cleaner,
ammonia and water or a citrus-based floor cleaner (use any liquid cleaner sparingly and do not apply the cleaner
directly on the floor).
It is also recommended not to put down area rugs or throw rugs for approximately one
month after installation to prevent inconsistent coloration
Every floor, including bamboo, must be swept with a soft bristle broom (the Swifter is highly recommended and
effective) daily or as often as necessary and/or mopped (slightly damp) if necessary. Walking on gritty, d

Exterior entrance mats should be used to capture most of the harmful dirt. Zep hardwood and laminate flooring
cleaner is great for bamboo floors.
Tips for a Successful Installation
Read all instructions first: Get all your questions answered before you start installing the floor. Before installing let the
flooring sit in the room for 7 to 10 days to acclimate to temperature and
moisture. Run air conditioning or heat as you would for normal liv

especially in basements. Testing the subfloor for moisture is a necessity.
